Protecting Your Investment in the event of a claim

 

Our Legal Expenses policy can assist you in pursuing legal action against a contractor or other professional regarding a written contract relating to your project. Provided as standard with our Site Insurance, the policy can assist you should a contract dispute arise during the course of your build. 

 

Cover provided:

​

1. The cost of pursuing claims arising out of a written contract relating to the self build home, against:

   • The vendor of the plot of land

   • The solicitor or licensed conveyancer

   • The architect, engineer or surveyor

   • Any supplier of materials, fittings etc

   • Any main contractor, groundwork contractor or demolition contractor

   • The Local Authority (other than in connection with planning disputes)

   • Utility providers

 

   2. The cost of eviction of anyone in the self build home without your permission

 

Please note:

• The Legal Expenses team can only assist in claims where a written contract is in place with the professional concerned

• Legal Expenses cover is an addition to our Site Insurance and cannot be purchased on its own.
